The NADINE Project (New Artists Dance in New England) was created to encourage young professional choreographers and support their work in a congenial environment. This ‘playground’ residency for making dances is under the mentorship of its founders, Libby Nye and Janet Mansfield Soares. In four-day residencies at the Dragon’s Egg in Ledyard, Connecticut, choreographers and dancers, invited by invitation, enjoy the availability of rehearsal space and living accommodations. Nye teaches daily contemporary technique classes in preparation for choreographic sessions guided by Soares. Together, they coach works-in-progress toward completion while showcasing work and promoting future performance opportunities.
Works created at NADINE have been presented at 92nd Street Y, Built on Stilts, The Byrdcliffe Theatre, Norristown DanceFest, University Settlement, Rebound Dance Festival, 5X5 Dance Festival, Chen Dance Center, and WAXworks.
